The El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority anticipates making a conditional offer in December of 2025. Offers of employment are contingent upon a successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
THE ORGANIZATION:
The West Slope Joint Powers Authority (JPA), also referred to as the El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority was formed in 1996 to act as the transportation contractor for paramedic ambulance services on the Western Slope of El Dorado County. The JPA is overseen by a ten-member Board of Directors, which includes representatives from nine fire departments, and an Emergency Communications Center. Within its operations, the JPA oversees the management of eight advanced life support (ALS) transport ambulances, which are operated by three member agencies. These ambulances are strategically located throughout the area to provide efficient emergency medical services.
POSITION SUMMARY
The EMS Operations Officer supports the public agency’s mission by overseeing the daily operations of emergency medical services to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of prehospital care. This position is responsible for coordinating field activities, supervising JPA employed personnel, managing resource deployment, and ensuring operational readiness across the EMS system. The EMS Operations Officer works closely with leadership, field staff, and partner agencies to uphold service standards, enhance system performance, and respond to the evolving needs of the community. This role is essential to maintaining operational excellence, workforce accountability, and public trust in the agency’s EMS services. Under direction of the Executive Director, the EMS Operations Officer conducts ongoing opportunity analysis to determine key clinical and operational performance management issues and demonstrates appropriate fiscal management. The EMS Operations Officer will provide operational field support for EMS vehicles, EMS equipment, and EMS medical supply management. The EMS Operations Officer will assist with EMS training that falls under the obligation of the JPA. The EMS Operations Officer, under the direction of the Executive Director, will represent the JPA at assigned meetings and will also perform all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority offers an exceptional salary and benefits package. The annual salary range for this position is $100,500-$135,000.
