The El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority anticipates making a conditional offer of employment in September of 2026. Offers of employment are contingent upon a successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
THE ORGANIZATION:
The West Slope Joint Powers Authority (JPA), also referred to as the El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority was formed in 1996 to act as the transportation contractor for paramedic ambulance services on the Western Slope of El Dorado County. The JPA is overseen by a nine-member Board of Directors, which includes representatives from eight fire departments, and an Emergency Communications Center. Within its operations, the JPA oversees the management of nine advanced life support (ALS) transport ambulances, which are operated by three member agencies. These ambulances are strategically located throughout the area to provide efficient emergency medical services.
POSITION SUMMARY
The EMS Operations Coordinator is a key position within the JPA, responsible for supporting system performance, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement across the regional emergency medical services system.
This position provides integrated support in the areas of system data management, performance reporting, clinical quality improvement, and EMS operations coordination. The role contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of system-wide initiatives designed to enhance service delivery, ensure regulatory and contractual compliance and support high-quality patient care.
Working under the direction of the Executive Director, this position collaborates with JPA leadership, the EMS Operations Officer, the JPA Medical Director, member agencies, and system partners to promote data-informed decision-making, operational consistency, and alignment with the JPA’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
The EMS Operations Coordinator may be assigned to represent the JPA in meetings, committees, and stakeholder engagements, and perform other related duties as required to support the evolving needs of the organization.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority offers an competitive salary and benefits package. The annual salary range for this position is $62,500-$85,000.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
This position supports system performance reporting, EMS training programs, and operational coordination for a high-performing, fire-based ambulance system.
Key Responsibilties Include:
- Develop and manage EMS system performance reports and data analysis.
- Support EMS training and continuing education programs.
- Assist with quality improvement and patient care review processes.
- Coordinate system-wide initiatives and operational support efforts.
Who We're Looking For:
- CA Licensed Paramedic
- Experience in EMS operations, training, or system coordination
- Strong data, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work across multiple agencies and disciplines.
